Modernising Triratna Online
How It Started
How It's Going
In 2021, Dharmachakra, who make the Buddhist Centre Online (TBCO) and Free Buddhist Audio (FBA), recognised the need for a comprehensive digital transformation to serve the growing needs of the Triratna community worldwide. The platforms were critical in maintaining communication, sharing teachings, and fostering engagement across the movement.
The challenge was to redesign and modernise these platforms, including the Triratna web server, to make them mobile-friendly, more efficient, and scalable for the future. The goal was to ensure that these tools could support ongoing activities and meet the needs of a global, diverse community.
With funding from FutureDharma, the team led by Candradasa expanded, enabling the redesign of FBA and TBCO, the launch of a new mobile-friendly interface, and the development of partnerships with Triratna centres across Mexico, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand to localise content and create online events, podcasts, and blogs. They also continued their daily live meditations and weekly Bodhichitta sessions.
The redesigned platforms launched successfully in early 2023, bringing increased engagement and access to teachings. The project continues to sustain its critical services, such as managing the Triratna server and facilitating the global communication network within Triratna, ensuring the long-term availability and development of essential online resources.
