Indian Chairs Assembly coordinator
How It Started
How It's Going
Supporting such a large movement in India and keeping it rich spiritually is complicated. With 35 centres and over 7,000 Mitras and newcomers, there was a pressing need for systematic support to ensure they aligned with Triratna’s principles, like Kalyana Mitrata (spiritual friendship) and Sangharakshita’s teachings. The Indian Chairs Assembly sought funding to develop a structured programme.
The project’s aims included regular centre visits, legal and spiritual guidance, and fostering a bridge between individual centres and the national assembly. With FutureDharma’s grant, a coordinator was appointed to visit centres and lead workshops. Through meetings and regional order weekends, chairs gained training in legal and administrative responsibilities, and workshops were held on Sangharakshita’s Four Lineages.
This initiative has significantly strengthened centres, leading to improved legal compliance and deeper integration of Triratna values. Over 5,000 attendees have participated in workshops, reinforcing community bonds and the dhamma’s spread across India. Pradnyaveer, a capable man with a background in government work in India, has been appointed as the new coordinator for FutureDharma Fund, replacing Amrutsiddhi. Pradnyaveer is based in Mumbai.
