International Council Convenor Team
How It Started
How It's Going
The International Council serves as a central body for steering the Triratna movement globally, connecting Area Councils, Strands, and Working Groups. With growing demands for collaborative initiatives and more efficient working practices, the IC needed to enhance its operational effectiveness.
The goal was to streamline the council's activities, ensure effective communication, and expand its reach. This included supporting movement-wide projects like the Sikkha project, facilitating monthly meetings, and creating a sustainable, long-term communication strategy.
The IC staff team, led by Arthavadin and Aparajita, has been preparing and organising monthly meetings, drafting policy papers, and developing an online presence to increase accessibility and engagement. Travel funds support the council’s in-person meetings every 18 months, with the next meeting in India in 2025. Ongoing efforts focus on improving participation in IC projects and ensuring that its work is widely understood and accepted across the Order.
Through these efforts, the IC has become more connected and visible within the global movement. The strategic direction has led to stronger collaboration and a clearer understanding of the IC’s role, ensuring that the council remains an essential part of Triratna's development and sustainability.
