Adhisthana Leadership Course
How It Started
How It's Going
Each year, the Adhisthana course selects a small, international group of Order members to gather in a five-week residential retreat aimed at fostering strong, resilient leadership. This includes Dharmacharis and Dharmacharinis from around the world.
In 2024, Adhisthana sought funding to support four Indian participants with potential for significant impact within the Order, helping them gain skills, experience, and confidence to lead and support sanghas in India and beyond.
With guidance from senior members of the College of Public Preceptors, participants lived in single-sex communities, engaging in shared work, Dharma practice, and discussions on challenges in leadership today. This unique setting offers an intensive experience of community life and spiritual growth.
Graduates of the course returned to their regions inspired, more connected to the wider Order, and better equipped to address the needs of their sanghas.
This year’s support for Indian leaders directly contributed to the future strength and resilience of the Order in India.
