One United Triratna Community

Supporting our Triratna Community in India through the remarkable work of the Indian Ordination Teams.

The India Dhamma Trust exists to help

  • create good conditions to deepen Dhamma practice in India
  • make the Dhamma widely available to Buddhists in India
  • realise the unity of the Triratna Buddhist Order and community
  • Buddhists undertake training for Ordination
  • spread the Dhamma to other Buddhists in India
  • Indian Buddhists give back to their society in any way they can

Who are we?

We are a UK based charity for the Triratna Buddhist Community, a worldwide movement founded by Urgyen Sangharakshita.

We are inspired by Dr Ambedkar who worked tirelessly in India until his death in 1956. With your support of India Dhamma Trust thousands of people are finding help and guidance within the Triranta community.

India Dhamma Trust is managed through partnership by FutureDharma Fund with all donations received restricted to Triratna causes in India. FutureDharma manages fundraising and grant-giving on behalf of India Dhamma Trust.

What are we doing?

We support teams of ordained Indian Buddhists who take the Dhamma, across 16 states in India, to Buddhists who wish to learn more about Buddhism and deepen their practice.

Many Indian Order members work tirelessly to enable this transformation. No-one is excluded. Today, more than 1700 people (half of whom are women) in India are training for ordination so that they, in turn, can spread the Buddha’s teachings.

We are working hard towards building self-reliance for Triratna in India, providing guidance for fundraising, and other support.

How can you help?

The Indian wing of the Triratna Buddhist Order has an effective and sensitive approach to Buddhism that is bringing real change to countless lives.

Small amounts of money go a long way in India and your donation can support people to lead lives full of purpose, dignity, confidence and freedom.

Please consider helping us in this valuable work by giving as much as you can.
