It really does seem like the world is on fire right now. Back in 1971 in his famous talk Evolution or Extinction: Current World Problems, Sangharakshita said that human beings faced a stark choice – to develop spiritually, or to become extinct.
But he also had some hope for us. Sangharakshita taught us that spiritual friendship and sangha can be routes towards self-development, greater understanding of others, and peace.
